As the vice president of diversity, inclusion, and social impact and executive director of HMC’s Designing Futures Foundation (DFF), Adrienne leads HMC’s justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) council and oversees HMC’s charitable giving and community engagement initiatives. The DFF, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) founded in 2009, has invested more than $1.6M in transformative nonprofits locally and globally. Through its philanthropy, HMC goes beyond architecture by expanding access to architecture, training the next generation of ACE professionals, addressing food insecurity and poverty, building a more sustainable future, and supporting health and human services to create thriving communities. Adrienne leverages HMC’s resources to strengthen our communities and build a better world.

Brandon is a licensed architect and project manager working in HMC’s Ontario office. He believes the most beautiful designs are responses to the most difficult problems. Brandon has over nine years of experience in Civic and Pre-K-12 planning and design. Brandon is committed to listening, interacting, and collaborating with clients to create healthy environments that respond to their needs. His approach results in spaces where users can not only live, work and play—but also thrive. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters in Regenerative Studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

A seasoned copywriter and influencer relations specialist, Bruce has extensive experience spearheading a range of PR activities while managing progressive internal communications programs. His PR efforts have earned national press coverage in leading media for HMC, and his internal communications strategies foster positive corporate culture, increased engagement, retention, and productivity among the firm’s employee-owners.

With more than three decades of experience, Chuck has devoted himself to elevating healthcare planning and design standards in California. He consistently provides creative solutions to challenges and brings an acute attention to detail to all projects. He recognizes the profound impact his work has on clients, patients, and communities and fosters unity among design and construction teams to successfully deliver projects that prioritize patient well-being and bring the client's vision to life.

David has over 25 years of experience in interior design and architecture with a successful track record of serving catering to a diverse clientele in higher education, PreK-12, and healthcare. His innate architectural intuition is complemented by a broad spectrum of expertise spanning all facets of the design journey, encompassing planning, architectural design, material selection, color theory, and furniture curation. David's expertise lies in orchestrating seamless coordination among project stakeholders, leveraging his exceptional problem-solving skills to deliver innovative design resolutions to complex challenges.

With over 25 years of dedicated professional experience, Eric excels in elevating educational experiences for students and faculty within California’s academic institutions. Adept in leadership, he guides teams to successful design and construction outcomes, showcasing a keen understanding of group dynamics. Eric values cultivating enduring relationships, utilizing his proven leadership, extensive higher education expertise, and exceptional interpersonal skills to optimize outcomes in diverse projects, aligning seamlessly with shared priorities.

As Director of Design, James oversees design and leads strategies to improve the impact of HMC’s work. Formerly serving as design principal where he led projects for HMC’s PreK-12 and civic practices, Krueger’s creative approach emphasizes the firm’s purpose of “design for good” to support clients with high-performance solutions that aim to have a positive impact.

Jason is the Director of Information Technology at HMC, bringing an impressive 27 years of experience, with 22 of those years dedicated to HMC. Armed with a degree in Information and Decision Systems, Jason has honed his expertise in managing and optimizing technology systems. His extensive knowledge is backed by a range of certifications, including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, ITIL Foundation, and Security+. His leadership and expertise have been invaluable in shaping HMC's IT infrastructure, driving the firm's technological advancements, and ensuring the security of its systems.

A licensed architect with over 20 years of experience working on a wide variety of project types, Jennifer’s experience as an architect and passion for the environment gives her a unique appreciation for the various constraints of a project. She strives to deliver the most sustainable project possible without negatively impacting budget, scope, and schedule. Jennifer believes designers and architects have a responsibility to protect the natural environment. As HMC’s director of sustainability, she leads strategic initiatives for sustainable building firm-wide and aims to impact not just HMC’s designs, but its operations as well; guiding HMC in minimizing its footprint while maximizing its positive impact.

Jonathan is a Design Principal within HMC’s Higher Education practice with 13 years of experience in a variety of project types, including student centers, student housing, academic buildings, student services, health and wellness, and athletics. With degrees in both architecture and mechanical engineering, Jonathan brings an integrated perspective of form and function to all his projects.

Recently, Jonathan presented “Immersive and Imaginative: Cultivating Belonging Across Institutional Cultures” at the SCUP 2024 Annual Conference in Seattle, WA.

Kelly Morrison has spent her career combining strategy and creativity to make a meaningful impact on several international architectural firms in the Los Angeles area. An experienced design professional with a B.S. in advertising and a focus on creative thinking from The University of Texas at Austin, Kelly loves to communicate the unique and original aspects of a project and seeks out opportunities to highlight the people and teams that make our work exceptional. Passionate about sustainable and resilient strategies, she is interested in creating a better, more just world through design and making a positive impact for all‒users, clients, communities, and the planet. Kelly cut her teeth on alternative delivery competitions and, for over a decade, has helped to win $2.8 billion in Design-Build work throughout Southern California. Her tailored marketing approach focuses on reflecting a client's identity and aspirations throughout the pursuit process to communicate the care and craft the design team will take in the project itself.

Mitch is HMC’s Senior Vice President of Risk Management. He has been with the firm for 33 years and his career spans nearly four decades in the architectural industry. In his role, he oversees all legal matters, including contracts, claims, and insurance. Mitch chairs HMC's Risk Management Committee and is an active member of the AIA Large Firm Roundtable Legal Committee. He educates HMC staff on contract negotiation and risk management and presents to educational institutions such as California Baptist University School of Architecture, Palomar College, and Cal Poly Pomona. His philosophy prioritizes balancing reasonable risk expectations while safeguarding the firm and its employee owners from extreme or uninsurable risk.

Located in our Los Angeles studio, Sergio is HMC's director of interior design. With over 10 years of experience in project management and design spanning healthcare, education, and civic environments, Sergio strives for beautiful interiors that are pragmatic and functional while being contextual and evocative of the client, their values, and the community in which they serve. Sergio also received a Master of Architecture in Real Estate Development.

Simon’s 23 years of experience include a diverse collection of projects. As a Design Principal working on higher education, K-12, and Community and Culture projects—including new construction, additions, renovations, master plans, and facility analyses—he believes in the positive effect design can have on the community.

Simon’s projects include traditional K-12 and higher education facilities, a LEED Silver certified library and community center with a focus on environmental awareness, and a youth camp near the Yosemite Valley that provides medically disadvantaged children from the inner-city the opportunity to experience firsthand what they have read about in books. He also serves as one of HMC’s aquatic design specialists.

In September 2023, Simon was a speaker at the 2023 Net Zero Energy Conference. His presentation “Approaching Zero from All Directions: The holistic sustainability mindset of SBCCD” discussed the sustainable achievements of his work for the San Bernardino Community College District.

Steve is an award-winning design professional with more than 20 years of graphic design, marketing, and art direction experience in the publishing and architecture industries. As HMC’s creative director, Steve interfaces with project design, marketing, and communication teams to deliver top-quality client-focused print, environmental, and digital experiences. He is an energetic, down-to-earth, creative, and managerial expert who delivers innovative design solutions and impactful outcomes while adhering to strict timelines and budgetary parameters.

Suzanne has over 20 years of education design experience working with school districts to infuse interior design into educational programming to help create innovative learning spaces.

As Principal in Charge, Tim has more than 30 years of educational experience. He has been personally responsible for more than 170 educational projects for multiple clients. His approach is rooted in the belief that every client has unique needs and expectations which must be met with personal attention and commitment. Based on this understanding, he has developed strong, long-term relationships with clients both big and small. Tim leads, facilitates, and manages people, processes, and projects, and is fully invested in collaborative problem solving and stakeholder inclusion. He is committed and determined to provide his clients not only a great experience, but exceptional project delivery that meets program needs and budgetary requirements—he understands this is the true measure of success.

As principal in charge in HMC’s Los Angeles PreK-12 studio, Virginia serves the firm’s PreK–12 client base by working with school districts, strategic partners, and internal teams to ensure operations and business development success. She has more than 20 years of experience in PreK-12 architecture creating optimal learning environments of all sizes and complexities. Virginia enjoys partnering with school administers, teachers, parents, the community, and especially students to re-imagine learning environments that prepare kids for life after graduation.
